How picking your cow and payment works.
-
The very first step in having a full freezer of high quality Way Maker Farms beef is to select your beef. The options for wholesale buyers are: Whole Cow, Half Cow, Quarter Cow. Refer to the homepage for the amount of estimated beef per bulk quantity.
-
Depending on which option you choose we take a deposit fee to reserve the cow. Each deposit fee is roughly a ¼ of what the total end price will be. (If for some reason the animal does not make its scheduled butcher date the deposit will be fully refunded).
-
Once deposit is placed, each buyer will be notified of an estimated pick up date window which will be typically 14-21 days after the butcher date of the cow.
-
The Cut Sheet. Each buyer will have the option to fill out a cut sheet where they will be
able to fully customize their beef. (Examples: thickness, weight, roast cuts, etc.) The standard fee is $1.10 per pound and if the buyer wants to have specific cuts it will be an additional charge.
-
Breakdown of how the payment process works. As we all know the cattle market is constantly fluctuating up and down but we do our best to keep our prices the same. Price is always based on Hanging weight (60-65% of the overall weight of the cow), our standard fee for hanging weight is $3.75/lb. And then an additional cost of $1.24/lb. which includes butchering and packaging of the cow.
Payment Method: Check is the preferred form of payment! Each deposit check must be mailed to reserve beef, and remaining payment must be paid before taking ownership of packaged beef.
-
Pick Up: Each cow is butchered and packaged at “George Flowers Beef Slaughter” in Sims NC. Each customer will pick up their beef from this location on a date specified. If the buyer would like to have the meat delivered there will be an additional fee for delivery.
Storage: Each cut of beef will be packaged into vacuum sealed bags ready for the freezer!
